I have always felt that my core purpose in this world was to help

people. I started that journey 8 years ago in veterinary medicine as a

licensed veterinary technician, advocating for animals and educating pet

parents along the way. After a traumatic long 64 hour birth with my son

in 2023, I was inspired by my own doula who guided me through the

toughest challenge i’ve ever faced. If I can help woman in the most

vulnerable stage of their lives, through all the magic and pain that is

childbirth and postpartum like my doula did for me, then I have fulfilled

my core purpose.

In 2019 I was pregnant with my first baby and my friend suggested I get a doula. I had never heard of one before and the concept of a doula was quite foreign! I decided to have one for my hospital birth and what a blessing it was to have my doula by my side for my first birth! I cannot imagine what it would have been like without her. I was so inspired by her calm, loving, supportive and nurturing energy. After I lost my job as a professor at American River due to Covid, I decided to go back to school online with ChildBirth International and get my certificate to be a Birth Doula.
