Scholarship for Doula Training Program
2025-2026 The Holistic Birth Doula Training is an 8-week online program for aspiring doulas in Nevada. Students will participate in weekly live Zoom classes (Tuesdays, November 11–December 30, 10am–2pm) and complete 5–7 hours of self-paced work each week.
Topics include birth history, trauma-informed care, communication and advocacy, pregnancy and birth physiology, comfort measures, postpartum recovery, lactation basics, and building a sustainable doula business. The course concludes with a final project: a portfolio of client-facing resources to launch your practice.
Doula Access Program (DAP)
The Doula Access Program (DAP) is a partnership between the DOULA CO-OP of Nevada (DCNV) and Renown Medical Center to address shared goals when DAP Doulas are supporting their clients (birthing individuals and families) before, during & after childbirth.
DAP Doulas will work alongside nurses, physicians, and hospital staff as an integrated member of the patient care teams on labor, delivery, and postpartum units.
PAID 12 Hour Hospital Shifts (Reno)
Expanding the DAP partnership between the DOULA CO-OP of Nevada (DCNV) and Renown Medical Center by implementing 12-hour doula shifts, creating a more consistent presence of doulas throughout the perinatal care process.
This opportunity was made possible through the Partners in Progress Grant and through the DOULA CO-OP. $35/hour is paid to the doula via DCNV as a 1099 independent contractor.

Paid Educational Opportunity - Centering Program at Renown Women’s Health
This initiative offers free, doula-led education classes to underserved parents, ensuring equitable access to evidence-based perinatal support through the Renown Women’s Health Centering Program.
Centering Pregnancy is prenatal care that includes an individual prenatal check-up with additional time and attention in a group setting. Expecting moms meet with our midwives and other women who are due around the same time for a series of sessions that cover various topics relating to their pregnancy. This program is geared towards first-time moms, but we are open to having moms who have already experienced pregnancy and childbirth to share their experiences with the group. The more the merrier!
PAID Educational Opportunity - Rural & Urban Educational Program
This initiative provides free, doula-led education classes to underserved parents, ensuring equitable access to evidence-based perinatal support. By removing financial barriers, we empower families to make informed decisions about pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. These classes would be offered in both the rural and urban counties in Northern NV. Providing free education classes in the Maternal Health Desert of Northern NV is a primary objective for every stakeholder, including Medical Professionals, Public Health, and legislators.
CPR Training By Doulas, For Doulas
We are fortunate to have a fellow Co-op member, who is not only a doula but also a PhD professor, volunteering her time to train us in lifesaving Infant and Adult CPR. She is certified through the American Heart Association and brings both her academic expertise and her passion for birthwork into every training session.
This hands-on certification course is tailored for doulas, ensuring you leave with both the confidence and skills to respond in an emergency. It’s an incredible opportunity to strengthen your practice while learning directly from someone who deeply understands both the science and the heart of what we do.
