Denaja’s Story:
As an African American doula, I came into birth work to provide emotional support during pregnancy, birth, and even postpartum. I believe every woman going through such a life-altering event should have that emotional and physical support.
I have a passion for childbirth, as I currently work as a medical assistant to a midwife. I was blessed enough to have the most immaculate labor and birth with my midwife, which encouraged me to become a doula so I could help the next mom experience the same joy. I also want to be able to help increase the satisfaction and outcomes of births. A woman’s birth story should be something she wants to re-live again. I love to say I do not catch babies, I hold mothers.
Outside of birth work, I am a mother to three beautiful kids. I also have a passion for customizing shoes. I am a very creative person and love spending my days crafting with my kids.
