Nichole’s Story:
My journey into birth work began after becoming a mother myself. Like many first-time parents, I believed that if I read enough books and researched enough, I would feel prepared. While I learned a great deal, I wasn't prepared for the emotional experience of birth or how under-supported my partner and I would feel in the hospital. That experience inspired me to become a doula—not because I had all the answers, but because I wanted other families to feel seen, supported, and empowered during one of the most important moments of their lives.
I believe every family deserves someone who can hold space, provide evidence-based education, offer reassurance, and remind them that their voice matters. My role is not to replace your medical team, but to walk beside you, helping you feel informed, confident, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Outside of birth work, I have dedicated my career to mental and behavioral health throughout Northern Nevada. I am a Nevada Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRSS), Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist Supervisor, Community Health Worker, Licensed Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy™ Clinical Facilitator, RYT-500 trauma-informed yoga teacher, and founder of Yoga Your Way® LLC. Through my work, I have trained more than 150 professionals in trauma-informed, inclusive, and accessible practices.
My philosophy is rooted in trauma-informed care, recognizing that every person's experiences, values, and journey are unique. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where families feel respected, heard, and empowered to make the decisions that are right for them.
When I'm not supporting families, you'll find me teaching yoga, leading trainings, exploring the Sierra Nevada mountains, or spending time with my partner and our son who was born in 2024 by c-section at Carson Tahoe in Carson City, Nevada.
