Alyssa’s Story:
Alyssa is a birth doula originally from the Triangle Area of North Carolina. She first encountered birth work at UNC Hospital as an undergrad, as she served as a volunteer doula. For her honors thesis and senior service project, she worked as a community doula for her Japanese community, helping expatriate families navigate the American healthcare system. With her explorations of the intersections of health and culture, Alyssa graduated with a bachelors in Medical Anthropology and continued her education with a master's in Public Health.
Alyssa's work is about holding space for the messy, sacred, and raw moments in life where joy, pain, and transformation converge. She believes in care that doesn't sugarcoat, support that doesn't smother, and strength that isn't silent.
Alyssa is here for the queer families, the solo parents, the chosen kin, the blended families, and anyone who's been told their story doesn't fit the mold. She is here to witness your resilience, love, and strength and to offer gentle support.
When Alyssa isn’t doulaing, you can find her dancing salsa and bachata, rock-climbing, reading, watching anime, crafting yummy meals, and traveling the world!
