Study Updates as of May 2024:

Our research team is wrapping up our first NIH Study: Culturally Congruent Doula Care; The Missing Lens into Maternal Mental Health!

In this study, pregnant individuals within the Medicaid population in Nevada were paired with DOULA CO-OP Community Member Doulas. Most of the birthing participants have completed their client-Doula intervention, which includes their prenatal, labor & birth, & post-partum support; Our very dedicated team is finishing up interviews with the Doulas who participated in the client-Doula intervention, & a survey has been disseminated statewide for every Doula currently practicing in Nevada. The survey will close on May 3rd, 2024.

Our goal is that this study will help address maternal health disparities for Nevada Medicaid women & highlight Doulas' experiences in providing services for the Nevada Medicaid population.
